“May the Great Spirit curse you when he speaks in the clouds and his words are fire! Lightning blast your crops! Wind and fire destroy your homes! The Evil One breathe death on your cattle! Panthers howl and wolves fatten on your bones!”
That is the alleged curse of an indian named Chocorua who the legend says died on this mountain that was then named after him. Its kinda cool that this mountain is one of the only bald ones in the White Mountains and sort of fits with the legend of the curse! If you want to know more about the legend of Chocrua check it out on Wikipedia.
Anyways these are two photos of the mountain I took last weekend. The lake in the front is Chocorua Lake. I always loved this mountain as it really stands out from the other mountains in the area with its rocky and bald summit. Someday I want to hike up it!
