The grass is always greener…
I thought these brown mushrooms looked sort of like a pile of donuts! I doubt they taste as good though!

Something a bit different from all the Autumn photos today. I saw this large Garden Snake slithering through the pine needles on the side of a trail while hiking a few weeks back. He was actually pretty large which you cant really tell from this photo. He let me get real close so I was able to get this photo.
Also I just created a page for my photo blog on Facebook so if you want to “Like” me that would be cool!! Here is the link: Fotoblography.com Facebook Page.

I am not sure what kind of plant this is but I took this photo in Maine a couple of weeks ago before any leaves had started to sprout.
With Easter fast approaching the Jelly Bean harvest is in full swing! Here is a red Jelly Bean plant that has been harvested already by the Jelly Bean farmers. Near by there were green, orange, and even black jelly bean plants all waiting to be harvested for Easter Candy!
Haha just joking obviously
I dont know what this plant is but the berries do look like jelly beans to me!
Another shot of our old and faithful snow blower (An 8HP International Harvester Cadet 268) from my last post this time of the spark plug. I will probably post a few more photos of this snow blower from different angles as I found it an interesting subject!
Well I can pretty much guarantee this will be one of the strangest photoblog posts you will see today! As I was sitting at my desk I saw this string hanging from the window shade and it just kept looking like a reindeer jumping to me. I don’t know if I am suffering from cabin fever or what but I just had to take the photo and see if others thought so too! Hopefully I am not going crazy
Sorry there has not been as many posts by me lately with all this winter weather and cold its harder to get out and take good photos. Hopefully I will start taking more photos soon.
Here is another photo I shot this past weekend after the very small first snow storm of the year. As you can see we did not get much snow at all but I liked the way the melting snow on these leaves looked.
Try saying that 5 times fast
I took this photo yesterday because I thought these decaying flowers looked really cool. The petals seem to be turning into an almost fur like substance! Here is a photo of these same flowers I posted awhile back before they started dying to compare them!
You may remember that back in July (see post) I was lamenting that a rabbit had eaten the Clematis flowers in our yard. Well I am happy to report that they just recently bloomed again and in fact this is the most flowers I have ever seen on the plant! So maybe having rabbits eat the early blooms is the key
I just took this photo about a half hour ago while playing with my new compact camera. I had been looking for a smaller compact camera to use as my “take everywhere” camera so that on the occasions when it is inconvenient to lug my DSLR and lenses with me I can still take a camera with me in case I want to take any photos. Anyways the camera I settled on was the Panasonic TZ5 mainly because it has a huge range for such a small camera (28mm-280mm) and also because it has a great video mode that can even record videos in true HD! I got it in the mail today and so far I am liking it alot. I may write a review for it here after I have had some time to play with it more.
If I were a bee these flowers would look pretty yummy to me! I did no processing at all on this shot this is right from the camera and to my photoblog.
I almost missed this little frog that was relaxing on the top of these colorful leaves. In fact the first shot of this plant that I took did not include the frog because I did not see him right away.
I saw this dragonfly flying around these flowers and I was hoping he would land so I could get a clear photo of him. I was lucky that he did land and here is the photo I was able to capture.
Here is a macro shot of a purple flower (sorry I dont know the name of it) I took last weekend using my brothers Pentax K100d. I was very happy with the results.
I wanted to let everyone know, if you have not noticed already, that starting today my posts will have larger images so they are easier to see! Also I don’t know if anyone has ever noticed but if you click on the images in my blog posts it makes them larger right on the same page with no new window. Just figured I would let people know because I don’t do a very good job advertising that feature.
Here is a Clematis that was in my backyard last summer. I wanted to take a picture of it this summer instead of posting one from last summer but a rabbit unfortunately ate the leaves on the plant and its not in very good shape so I don’t think it will be blooming this year. But of least I can share last years photo of it!
These flowers were on a largish bush. Not sure what kind of flowers they are but they looked almost fake they where so perfectly shaped and delicate looking.
I am not sure exactly what kind of plant this is but I thought the soft fluffy white stuff at the top looked a bit like cotton candy. Anyone know what kind of plant this is?
It was a nice day after work today so I decided to take a few photos around the yard. Its finally starting to feel more like spring here in Massachusetts with the flowers blooming so I thought I would post this photo of a newly blossoming weeping cherry tree.
A rainstorm had just ended when I took this photo of a Tiger Lilly. I had taken a few earlier before the rain but none came out as good. What they say is true raindrops really do enhance flower photos.
I took this photo last weekend while testing my new Tamron 70-300 lens. I was taking a macro shot and I think it came out really well. As a surprise bonus I got a bee buzzing by that came out pretty clear in the photo. It is on the right hand side of the picture in case you did not see it.
I saw this wild Pink Lady Slipper in my yard last spring so I had to take a photo of it. I will have to check again this year and see if I can find some more Lady Slippers in the yard to photograph.
I am not quite sure what kind of flowers these are but since it is springtime I figured it would be a good time to post it. I saw these flowers while at a nature conserve that is by a marsh. You can just make out the water in the background behind the trees and leaves. Overall I am pretty happy with it but the image is not quite as sharp as I was hoping. It was the best I could do with the lens I had though. I was using my Pentax K10D with the Pentax DA 50-200 lens at the time. I am starting to think I really need a macro lens so I can get in closer.
I saw this butterfly snacking on a flower and figured it would be the perfect chance to practice a Macro shot with my Pentax k10d.
