I have a couple of cool bird photos to share over the next few days. First this Hawk photo that I took on Friday. He let me get really close to him and was not afraid of me at all. He was sitting above a bird feeder so I think he was on the hunt for dinner. I am not sure what kind of hawk it is does anyone know?

that’s a beautiful specimen you captured here.. can’t say what type of hawk that is, i just started shooting birds myself..
Sorry I have no idea what type of hawk it is but you have captured it so beautifully, it looks quite regal standing there
WOW nice shot! Might be a red-tailed hawk, but will have to research. He looks like the “king” of this domain!
beautiful bird
This is a great shot; usually it is hard to get close enough but it sounds like this one was really tolerant of you. I like the dof in this also I think it is a type of kestrel, but not sure.
Hawks are cool birds, Andy, and remind me of eagles a bit. Royalty.
how beautiful!! i’ve always thought hawks were so pretty, the shape of their head and eyes, delicate little beak, as opposed to eagles who are not subtle at all haha
I have no idea but it sure is a good strong looking fellow.
Superb capture with a very good framing. Have a lovely day.
Superb capture, i like.
Oh Cool! I love to watch Hawks fly around. They are beautiful! Great shot!
very cool capture.
What magnificent capture, beautiful colors, lights and shadows !
Well done
Great capture of a beautiful bird, well done.
I think (but don’t quote me) it’s a red-tailed hawk..and looks like a baby (or a very young one). Extraordinary capture!!!
A fine capture of this beautiful bird. I’m amazed that he would let you get this close.
Aptly titled, indeed…and what a great catch!
It looks like it’s sitting for you to make it’s portrait:-)
He’s really pride, great portrait.
Very proud indeed!
Not positive, but I, too, think it looks like a red-tailed hawk. Gorgeous bird and a great shot, Andy.
Excellent capture, the background really helps him stand out!
