By now I am sure everyone has heard about the devastating earthquake in Haiti this week. These photos were taken by my brother when he was on a missions trip to Haiti last year. I too have been to Haiti and have seen first hand the poverty there. I can’t even imagine how bad things are now after this major earthquake and with the capitol being basically leveled. Please consider donating to a reputable charity to help the people of Haiti if you can. One charity I recommend donating to is Compassion International’s Haiti Disaster Relief Fund. Compassion already had a large presence in Haiti before this earthquake and they have people on the ground working to help those affected. If not Compassion then please consider another reputable charity if you can, and please pray for and remember the people of Haiti. Click on an image below to make it larger.

for sure, it’s so terrible, i live on the fault, and hope i never experience it breaking.. if you should be able to trust anything it’s the ground beneath your feet!!
very nice series, i wonder what happened to those on the photos, hope the best for those people
A nice commentary on an emotional topic. Well presented, Andy.
An amazing series Andy. Such a terrible devasation and loss suffered by these people. I live onm a fault line as well, and something like this reminds of me that.
Such expression in his eyes…beautiful framing.
Another tragedy from the occurrence of a natural disaster. I remember back in 2008 during the earthquake in Sichuan Province, China. These are truly great images of Haiti by your brother Andy.
having felt the effect of a 7+ magnitude earthquake back when i was in the philippines, i know what they are going through.. it must be really hard over there right now.. all we can do is pray & hope for the best..
Wonderful photos Andy. I pray for them.
This is crazy… nature hits people already hit by poverty. But I must admire those people who leave their comforts to go help these people. This is really a brave and admirable work. On a personal note… I will do whatever is there in my capacity. Will check the Compassion site now.
Nice post on such a devastating tragedy.
A very moving post with a meaningful message…great series of images.
Very fitting post, Andy. These are quite a collection of images.
Excellent images of a very emotional situation that you handled with dignity. Stunning series.
I gave money to the Red Cross specified to Haiti. It doesn’t seem like enough but it is all I can do.
Thanks for the link, Andy. I had wanted to donate but didn’t know what/whom to choose. This felt timely to me, so I just made a donation! My heart has been wrenched by all the suffering and poverty.
So sad, it’s a real tragedy.

Andy an excellent post and very well presented, pay day is just around the corner :)) thankyou for the reputable link.
It is horrible what happened there… all these poor people. I like this series of pictures. They let us see a life so different from our Western lives.
Great image and notes, very moving - thank you for sharing this.
Very involving series and a nice counterbalance to the attention grabbing CNN type shots.
[...] just want to thank everyone for the great replies and response to my last post about the People of Haiti. And I want to thank you for any donations you gave to Compassion or another charity towards Haiti. [...]
