Boston Tall Ships 2009, Tall Ships, Sailboats, MA

This it the first photo in my Boston Tall Ships 2009 series. Yesterday I went to the 2009 Boston Tall Ships event in Boston, MA. There were over 40 of these tall ships from around the world docked all around Boston that you can look at and tour. Sadly because of budget cuts there was no “Parade of Sails” this year so there was no opportunity to see these boats under sail. :( Still was a great event though! The Tall Ships will be in Boston until July 13th so if you are in the area I recommend checking them out! I will be posting more photos from the Tall Ships event over the coming days so stay tuned!

Here is some info about the ship:

Name: Sagres
Homeport: Lisbon, Portugal
Rig: Barque
Sparred Length: 293’ 6″
Draft: 17’
Beam: 39′ 6″
Hull: Steel
