I got a chance to go to Salem MA over the weekend and I used my new Lensbaby lens alot. Having said that I am not sure about this shot. I like it but I sort of think it may have been better with a higher aperture on the lensbaby so there would be a bit less blur. What do you think did I go overboard with the lensbaby on this shot?

It has flow and movement which suits this scene well. It’s like I’m diving for cover or something
Lensbabies are so magical. I don’t think it’s possible to go overboard. They have their own poetry and rhythm. Love the color..and the blurr..and I’m assuming that this was before this latest round of snow?!?!?
Yep the day before the snow!
i dunno.. i haven’t tried one yet..
but if it were me, i’d do what you did and shoot a lot!
While I feel a little busy looking at the shot, I have to say that I actually do like it.
I love it, Andy. I may have to save up for an LB now!
love the shot!! i don’t know much about shooting with lensbabies
Wonderful saturation of colors and what a deep blue sky.
I wouldn’t change a thing! But, once the snow melts, head on back and change out the aperture and give them all a try! Or go out in your front yard and do the same.
I think I’ve only used two different apertures so far, maybe three - I’m slowly working my way through them all.
Ya good advice! I gotta test all of them!
fantastic use of lensbaby, it seems that you’re running
I like it the way you’ve posted it. The lensbaby imparts its own style and character on every shot. Adjustments would make another, but different image. Fine image the way it is!
Very nicely done. Great composition, framing and detail.
Excellent colouring here…
very nice motion effect on this shot! I can feel it blowing..
Magical shot, the effect is like that of seeing through an animal’s eye. I actually thought of this as a eye-level view of a predator.
Nice capture. i just wonder, you obtained that blur from the shot, or after you processed the photo?
The blur is not from processing but from the Lensbaby Lens that I used.
a little bit over board for me at least. but it’s a matter of taste after all
i like the pattern still
Nice work with the lensbaby…very interesting
I like the effect you’ve created here. It makes me think we’re off on an adventure.
Fantastic lensbaby - selective focus - effect. Great work !
I’ll repeat what I said before. Lensbabies make for some brilliant baby photos. You need to try this on some kids.
Coming back to the photo, I like it. especially because of the low angle.
