I took this photo just as this cold bird was shaking the snow off of his feathers. I wouldnt want to be him on a snowy day like today! Also I want to wish everyone a Happy New Year!

Strange how these little birds survive the long cold winter. Perfect image for today!!!
Best wishes for 2009.
You can almost hear him muttering, ‘Why wasn’t I born a bird of paradise on a sun kissed beach!’.
Terrific shot
Wishing you a very Happy New year, Andy.
oooh lovely shot Andy!! love the cool colors, or should i say ‘cold’… happy new year to you and yours!!!
A very nice capture !!
I wish you a very good year in 2009 for exceptional photography !!!
Looks like it is being trapped. Poor thing
And I was worried for the birds in the yard today with the heat!
A fine bird shot with him doing his survival thing. I often wonder how the wild animals make it under the severe conditions. I drove by two deer yesterday walking down my street and wondered what on earth they are finding to eat with all this snow.
Very cool capture! The exquisite picture, but sad… Great work.
Very nice. the bird needs to stop hiding! Happy new year!
So pretty, Andy. I don’t know that I’ve ever seen one before.
Lovely shot. There is a tenderness in this image.
It’s all fluffed up for warmth. Nice shot, Andy.
Happy New Year!
i also wouldn’t want to be in the same position as him..
nice shot..
on rare occasions like these I don’t want to be a bird. the freedom to fly anywhere is still quite appealing though. I guess I’ll have to be one of those big migratory birds - just fly to Hawaii in winter
well captured.
Very nice capture.
