I got this vantage point of Lake Winnipesaukee from a scenic overlook on the side of the highway. I have posted a photo of this island before but on this particular day I was lucky as the famous Mount Washington boat happened to be passing right as I was taking the photo. I thought it was cool that the island was smaller then the boat!
Here is a shot of one of my cats as he was rolling over. He is an indoor cat so instead of being the King of the Jungle he is the King of the House!
You may remember that back in July (see post) I was lamenting that a rabbit had eaten the Clematis flowers in our yard. Well I am happy to report that they just recently bloomed again and in fact this is the most flowers I have ever seen on the plant! So maybe having rabbits eat the early blooms is the key
I just took this photo about a half hour ago while playing with my new compact camera. I had been looking for a smaller compact camera to use as my “take everywhere” camera so that on the occasions when it is inconvenient to lug my DSLR and lenses with me I can still take a camera with me in case I want to take any photos. Anyways the camera I settled on was the Panasonic TZ5 mainly because it has a huge range for such a small camera (28mm-280mm) and also because it has a great video mode that can even record videos in true HD! I got it in the mail today and so far I am liking it alot. I may write a review for it here after I have had some time to play with it more.
I tried this picture in color first but after converting it to b&w I decided it looked alot better this way. The white hanging flowers stand out better in the b&w version then they did on the color one against the green leaves.
There was something sad about this chimney sitting by itself near the walking path I was on. It was the last remnant of some house or factory and it made me wonder what used to be there. There is almost no evidence left of any building ever being there except for this chimney, forever standing, as a monument for dreams long forgotten.
If I were a bee these flowers would look pretty yummy to me! I did no processing at all on this shot this is right from the camera and to my photoblog.
The Wright Museum is a World War II museum that is located in Wolfeboro NH. The poster was so colorful and interesting I decided to desaturate the rest of the photo and leave that in color. I cant decide if it worked or not. Either way I think this is a pretty cool way to advertise a museum with a tank breaking through the wall!
These purple flowers have a great front row view of Lake Winnisquam where they can enjoy the action on the lake like the Jet Ski in the background.
I am not sure what type of berries these are but I thought this branch had some character with the red and blue berries and the green leaves.
Here is a photo from Parlee Farms in Tyngsboro, MA that I took last weekend. They have tons of pick your own farmland where you can pick your own strawberries, blueberries, apples etc., depending on the season. They also have this amazing field of flowers that goes on as far as the eye can see!
Here is a shot I took a couple of weeks ago near Lake Winnisquam in NH. There was this big Osprey nest that I saw and just as I was taking my lens cap off the giant white Osprey flew away leaving me with only her nest to take a photo of. Still the nest is pretty cool and very well built so of least I got that I suppose.
Here is another photo from Newburyport, MA that I took last weekend. This is a store front that was downtown. The sign may welcome free speech but if you notice in the upper left corner on the little sticker you wont get the sign for free because it costs $16.
