newburyport church

I went to Newburyport MA yesterday and here is a shot looking up at a cool old church in downtown Newburyport. I took this photo with my old 3.2 mp Canon Point and Shoot Camera.

Dragonfly, Flower, Macro, Purple

I saw this dragonfly flying around these flowers and I was hoping he would land so I could get a clear photo of him. I was lucky that he did land and here is the photo I was able to capture.

Kayak Rainbow, Boats, Lake Winnisquam, NH

Boat Garage, Wooden Boats, Brick, The Wini, lake winnipesaukee

This river on Lake Winnipesaukee in Wolfeboro NH had some cool little boat garages that housed some classic wooden boats.

mount chocorua, NH, chocorua Lake

The towering mountain with the bald peak is Mount Chocorua. It is one of the most popular hiking destinations in the White Mountains of NH and has an elevation of about 3,500 feet. The lake in front of it is aptly named Chocorua Lake.

I took this photo yesterday while visiting Lake Winnisquam.

Rainbow Trout, Giant, Feed, Castle in the Clouds, Pentax K10d

Here are some tame Giant Rainbow Trout. They live in a pond on the grounds of the Castle in the Clouds. There is even a feeding machine where you can buy some food to feed them. No fishing is allowed here that is for sure as these fish are really used to getting free meals! I used my circular polarizer filter on the lens to help cut through the glare on the pond and get a clearer shot of the fish.

Mountains, Train tracks, Wilderness, Train, Pentax K10d

As I was driving by these train tracks I noticed the mountain far off in the distance and looked for the nearest place to turn around because it looked like it would be a nice photo. I am pretty happy with it overall and I think it was worth stopping to get it.

Covered Bridge, White Mountains, NH, 1858

Here is the final angle I will post of this old covered bridge. Here is the bridge from straight on looking through it to the other side. Cars still use this bridge regularly.

Covered Bridge, NH, White Mountains

Since alot of people seemed to like the photo of the covered bridge that I posted last week I decided to post a couple more photos of it over the next couple of days from some different angles. Here is a shot of the side of it that shows some of the river below it.

North Conway, Train, NH

Here is the train leaving the North Conway Train station that I showed in my last blog posting.

North Conway Train Station, NH

Here is a photo I took of the train station in North Conway NH.

Tree, Mountain, Lake

I took this photo from that same overlook that I took the photo of the Castle in the Clouds that I posted earlier in the week.

Covered Bridge, NH, Pentax, White Mountains

This shot is of an old covered bridge originally built in 1858 that is located in the White Mountain National Forest in NH. I decided to go sort of underneath it to get a different vantage point then just taking a photo of it straight on.

Castle in the Clouds, Lake Winnipesaukee, mountain

Here is a shot of the “Castle in the Clouds” that overlooks Lake Winnipesaukee. I hiked up another trail on the property that is above the castle to get this vantage point.

Horse Swing, Castle in the Clouds

I saw this cool swing at the Castle in the Clouds in Moultonborough NH. This photo was taken in front of the carriage house that is on the grounds below the castle. The Castle in the Clouds is a huge mansion built in the early 1900’s that is on the top of a small mountain overlooking Lake Winnipesaukee. I have several photos showing the Castle that I will be posting soon.

Friendly Duck

This Friendly Duck came right up to me while I was sitting near the lake.  He probably was looking for some free food but I sadly did not have any to give him.

Farm, Decay, Paint Peeling

Here is an old decaying farm building found on the same farm where I took the photos of the cows eating that I posted yesterday.
