I forget exactly where this was taken but I know it was somewhere in the mountains of NH. I was hiking and the trail crossed an active train track that goes through the woods.

Like the perspective, looking straight down the tracks. Excellent b/w processing, works great on this image.
I too like the straight-down-the-tracks view. The railing along the side helps direct attention too. Fine B&W work.
I like how the tracks disappear around the bend. Nice b & w processing. It really does work well with this image.

This shot has got me wondering…does anyone take the train cross country any more? Sure we fly and caravan, but what about the train? Has it lost its’ mystique?

Interesting post Sean about the decline in train travel. I know I have always wanted to take a long scenic train ride through the country like they have in old movies but who knows if I ever will.
