The sun was just starting to set last summer on Lake Winnipesaukee when I took this shot of an old boathouse on the lake.
Here are some pansies we have hanging from our back porch. The flowers are so colorful I could not resist taking a photo of them.
I was walking on the beach and came upon an odd site. A tire that was in good shape just sticking out of the sand as if it where one of the rocks nearby it. I am not sure how it got there maybe it washed ashore? Strange how it was perfectly standing there though.
Here are a few shots I took today of a Raccoon Family that lives in an old dead tree in my back yard. It is fun to look at them from my back porch with binoculars (who needs the National Geographic Channel!). Sometimes the mother even sits on the branch outside the hole when it gets to hot or she needs a break from the youngsters. So far I have seen three babies that occasionally pop their heads up in the hole. Here are a few of the better ones that I took today. Its pretty hard to get good ones because the leaves constantly blow around and make it hard to focus on the Raccoons. » Continue Reading…
This very impressive memorial for the holocaust is in Boston near Faneuil Hall on the famous Boston Freedom Trail. I highly recommend you check it out if you are ever in Boston. To learn more about The New England Holocaust Memorial check out the official website.
This empty playground at the top of a hill/sand dune was overlooking the ocean and it seemed like a strange spot to have a playground. Of course it was the winter when I took this picture so maybe in the summer more people use it but on this day of least it seemed that it may as well have been in the middle of nowhere.
I am not sure exactly what kind of plant this is but I thought the soft fluffy white stuff at the top looked a bit like cotton candy. Anyone know what kind of plant this is?
Here is a photo I took of Marblehead Harbor in January. On the far right you can see a rather average looking lighthouse that is not very pretty (it looks sort of like an oil well or something) but it gets the job done.
I took the ski lift up to the summit of Wildcat mountain a couple of years ago and here is the beautiful view from the top. It was kind of a hazy day but I found converting the image to black and white actually helped to show more of the surrounding mountains then the color version did. Be sure to click on this image to make it larger because it is kind of small on the page so it would fit.
Here is an old alleyway in Boston, MA. I thought it was interesting that it was an entirely brick alleyway with both the ground and the walls made of brick. The graffiti and the dirty ground gave the alley a gritty look that I liked.
It was a beautiful fall day in Maine when I took this photo. I was taking pictures of the fall foliage when I saw these two rowboats all by themselves in this small bay. It sometimes gets boring just taking pictures of trees in the Fall with nothing in the foreground so this was a bonus finding these rowboats!
Here is a photo of the famous MS Mount Washington on Lake Winnipesaukee. If you have ever been to Lake Winnipesaukee in the summer chances are good you have seen this huge boat sometime during your stay. It is very popular with tourists and gives tours of the lake every few hours. I converted this photo to sepia tone and added the noise to give the photo an old time look.
Here is a shot from downtown Newburyport, MA. This old time soda shop / newspaper stand seems to be a relic from the past that has been frozen in time and preserved for today.
I took this photo of this old and weathered house in Kennebunkport Maine. It must be nice to live literally right on the water like that. It was a very calm and peaceful fall day as you can see by the reflections of the house supports.
This is an interesting shot I took in Newport, RI. There was this old building that looked like a castle and towering over it was a modern day apartment building. You don’t often see two buildings that are so different that close together.
Here is another shot from my trip to Newport RI last summer. I really like all the natural wood on this sailboat. The boat was almost shining it was so immaculately taken care of.
This photo was taken in Newport, RI last summer. There was a lone fisherman on some rocks with waves crashing all around him. He must have been pretty dedicated because I am sure he got pretty wet as I remember a few of the waves got pretty close to him.
